Beating and picking up

We welcome enquiries from beaters and pickers up of all levels of experience.

Due to livestock on some of the surrounding field at times, we do ask that you have control over your dog(s).

We also request that all beaters/pickers up ensure their dogs are insured for third party liability.

Please be aware that the ground we operate on is challenging - it's a varied mix of steep terrain, thick cover and uneven ground.

The shoot covers a variety of unique ground over several hundred acres - including woodland, pasture, scrub grass, gorse, quarry workings and bracken banks. We're situated in a great position offering excellent views of the surrounding hills.

As we are a small shoot, unfortunately we cannot pay beaters and pickers up but we can offer you a friendly atmosphere, a hot breakfast, lunch, hot drinks and hopefully a brace of pheasants!

All beaters and pickers up are usually invited to summer clay shoots and we try to facilitate an opportunity for beaters and pickers up to have a shoot at least once in the season if possible.

We are open to enquiries about using the shoot ground for gundog training.

If you have any questions, want to join us or would like a tour of the shoot, please get in touch with us using the form on the right.
