Game shooting

We are a friendly and relaxed family-run shoot just south of Macclesfield, Cheshire. We welcome Guns with all levels of experience and tuition can be offered for the novice shot.

The shoot covers a variety of unique ground over several hundred acres - including woodland, pasture, scrub grass, gorse, quarry workings and bracken banks. We're situated in a great position offering excellent views of the surrounding hills.

The shoot is accessible by car along a gravel track and we have a car parking area (so having a 4x4 is not essential). There is a small shoot hut where hot food and drink is available on a shoot day.

We are a laid back and friendly shoot, but our focus is always on safe and responsible shooting. At all times we aim to follow the Code of Good Shooting Practice and we ask that all those shooting with us are BASC members or otherwise insured.

We put down a modest number of pheasants each year, and occasionally partridges. We are not a 'big bag' shoot and typically aim for around 30 bird days, but as with all shoots, this can vary with conditions. The steep terrain, thick cover and compact layout make for some difficult beating conditions but do provide some challenging and exciting shots.

Being a small shoot, we don't have a full time keeper - Jim and Murray manage and keeper the shoot in their spare time. So, we ask all Guns to give us a hand on work days in the run-up to the season to help us get some of the bigger tasks done. The work days are good fun, a chance to get to know your fellow Guns and to contribute to the season ahead.

For the 2022/23 season, game shooting is available at £1300 per Gun for 10 shooting days. Half Gun options may be available.
